"The Killer's Tears" is a sensational novel about a love that grows between a murderer and a young boy. The action starts at the very beginning of the book: The Poloverdo family live happily in a farmhouse on the tip of Chile. Unexpected, Angel Allegria, a killer, murders the farmer and his wife, sparing the life of their son, Paolo. Together, they attempt to live a normal life, Angel being the dad, and Paolo being his son. When a wealthy city man named Luis Secunda steps in, an emulation emerges between him and Angel, competing for Paolo's attention and respect. After days of the three men living with each other, they are suddenly forced to leave the farmhouse, due to food deficiency. Luis separates from the group, falling in love with an inn caretaker's daughter. Seeing WANTED flyers everywhere, Angel and Paolo runs as far as they could, as fast as they could, in fear that the Police might find Angel. Later on in the story, Angel goes to jail, sentenced to death, and Paolo stays with his foster parents. At the end of the book, Paolo is 18 years old, and now that he was old enough to visit prison, he asks to see if he could visit Angel. Unfortunately, Paolo didn't grow fast enough because a year before Paolo turned 18, Angel died.
Anne- Laure Bondoux's word choice and imagery of words created a state of suspense and adventure for the book. Some parts of the story helped the reader visualize the big effect Angel had on Paolo. The questions below go into more detail about what happens in the story. :)

My thoughts of this answer is kind of on both sides of the fence. I think they had a good reason for Angel's execution-because he killed many people. Although he was a murderer I think that he earned his chance to live towards the end. Why??? With him taking responsibility for a young child such as Paolo, Angel changes in a certain way that showcases a soft and pure side of himself Im'm guessing he never never knew about.
I totally agree with you on this!!! I think that Angel did have a good side to him, and he was a great father to Paolo.
I think that you have to look at how everyone else saw Paolo and Angel's relationship. They thought that he was abusing Paolo and had killed his parents. Morally, I think he should have lived but because of all his previous killings I think justice was surved.
